Turquoise

"Bhilu" Pendant with Turquoise and Coral Chain


Bhilu

The Bhilu or Yaksha (ogre) features a lot in the Jataka stories(folklore-like literature concerning the previous births of the Buddha). There are differant kinds of bhilus, who are higher and more powerful than animals. The bhilu as a work of art is an admirable thing. It is fearsome and at once graceful.
